90th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
The planning for a two-day celebration is well underway to celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Leah Chase as she embarks upon her 90th birthday. Please join her family and friends in the festivities by supporting the efforts of this momentous occasion as we honor a woman that has committed her life to the City of New Orleans, the State of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast Region with her culinary expertise. A series of events will be held January 4th – 5th, 2013, and will highlight Mrs. Chase’s contributions to the local and global community.
Over the two-day period we are expecting an estimated 2,000 attendees in different venues throughout the City of New Orleans. This is a great opportunity to say thank you to Mrs. Chase for her wonderful work as a pioneer in the food and restaurant industry, a civil rights activist, supporter of creative arts and her exemplary love for all the people that she has touched over the years.
Birthday parties have always been one of Leah’s favorite celebrations and because reaching the age of 90 is so special, we want to throw Leah a birthday party that is fitting for the Queen of Creole Cuisine. With that being said, the culminating event will be a 90th Birthday Gala at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. The goal of this celebration is to not only wish Leah well on this milestone, but to raise money for the Edgar “Dooky” Jr. and Leah Chase Family Foundation. The foundation will provide funding to individuals and organizations that support education, creative and culinary arts, and social justice.
