What events will be included in the weekend-long celebration?
The weekend will be comprised of several signature events over two exciting days. On Friday, January 4th, friends of Mrs. Chase will be invited to Dooky Chase Restaurant to attend one of three special lunch settings. Guest will enjoy a specially prepared menu and partake in a unique treat, “Lunch Conversations with Dooky & Leah." Mr. & Mrs. Chase are wonderful storytellers and together they will share stories and memorizes of operating a family restaurant together for over 66 years, the restaurant's impact during the Civil Rights Movement, and their love for the Arts.
The premiere event, Leah's 90th Birthday Gala, will be held on Saturday, January 5th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the Ballroom. This event will include Mrs. Chase’s favorite entertainers, civic leaders and special friends and family that will be brought together to illuminate the significant contributions that Mrs. Chase has made to her family, friends and community at large. This event will be the platform for the Chase Family to present their new philanthropic endeavor by presenting to the community their new foundation “The Edgar "Dooky" Jr. & Leah Chase Family Foundation.”

Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer, LLC Law Firm has filed the application for the Foundation to receive 501(c)3 status. We will provide all necessary information to our sponsors upon receipt.
